Meet our First lady

 First Lady Yasmin Mitchell

Yasmin Mitchell is a graduate Adelphi University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Behavior. She believes that as human beings, we have a responsibility to empower one another. She believes that the human spirit, which houses the purpose which we’ve all been created for, must be nurtured naturally and spiritually. She believes that everyone is created and designed with a gift that should propel them into their God-given purpose. Understanding why you were created and what you were created for is Key.

In January 2010, Yasmin was solicited by her husband, the senior pastor of Changing Lives Christian Center, to resign from her secular career and work for the ministry full-time as its church administrator. This was a role that she was already very much involved in since the ministry’s inception seven years prior. However, the capacity in which she would now be involved would be more intense. This was certainly an offer that Yasmin felt she needed to consult the Lord about. She experienced doubt about whether or not she should make the transition. This was primarily predicated on the substantial financial increase that she received just a year prior from Farmingdale University and the fabulous benefits package and incentives that came along with the new job.

On January 29, 2010, Yasmin officially resigned from Farmingdale University as the senior job readiness trainer, and transitioned into her role as the church administrator for Changing Lives Christian Center on February 1, 2010. Her role included, but was not limited to, relieving the pastor of C.L.C.C. of organizational and operational responsibilities, thereby allowing him to focus his full-time efforts on preparing weekly lessons for the ministry. Her role is to directly report to the pastor regarding all aspects of ministry administratively an organizationally.

The ministry immediately began thriving in all areas. Being a full-time employee for the ministry was clearly God’s will and plan for Yasmin and the ministry – because in just two months of being full-time, the Lord used Yasmin prophetically to speak to her husband and inform him that he was going to be on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), not only as guest but as a national guest. After his debut on the national Trinity Broadcasting program, the ministry took another turn when God opened the door for the ministry to be on TBN’s New York local program, which also allowed the ministry to be on TBN’s network absolutely free—for five years! Only God! Not long after the local programs aired, the station manager for TBN presented Pastor Mitchell with the opportunity to also host and interview pastors and other special guests from the New York tri-state area. After a number of interviews, Yasmin was then presented the same opportunity as her husband to host and interview pastors’ wives in the New York tri-state area on TBN’s local “Praise the Lord” program. Her first interviewee was Daryl Strawberry’s wife, Tracy Strawberry. Thank you to God and Chris Luppo for allowing Yasmin this awesome opportunity as she also hosted and interviewed quite a number of other guests.

From 2003 to the present, Yasmin has assisted and supported her husband as his right hand in ministry with the help of the Lord. She is a servant of the Lord who teaches C.L.C.C.’s New Foundation classes to new members. She sings on the church’s praise and worship team. She is the ministry director over C.L.C.C.’s “I’m My Sister’s Keeper” women’s ministry. Yasmin’s husband calls her a ‘blue collar’ first lady—which means “whatever she finds her hands to do, she’s doing it.” She believes that ministry requires the grace of God and hard work. Laziness and failure are not options because she “can do all things through Christ which strengthens her.” (Philippians 4:13)

Yasmin is a devoted wife and help-mate to her husband of twenty-eight years. She serves alongside with him in ministry and very grateful to God for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. She enjoys the many facets the ministry has to offer. Yasmin believes in ensuring that the ministry is administratively and organizationally sound. “Serving with a Spirit of Excellence” is the motto by which she leads.
