Alignment - Part 4

A Tool Of Faithfulness

The purpose of this blog is to serve as a reminder of how important it is to apply God's Word in our everyday walk as Believers. Through the teachings we receive at Changing Lives Christian Center, Pastor Paul B. Mitchell consistently shows us how to practically implement the Word in every arena of our lives. Implementing the Word is the KEY to walking the narrow path Jesus spoke of in the book of Matthew. From the inception of this blog, until now, our objective is to shed light on choosing, walking, and staying on the straight, narrow path...

Last week, we put the world we are now living into Biblical context, and realized just how vital it is to get serious about our relationships by aligning with what our Father requires of us. The Bible is full of promises, but it's also has warnings and instructions on how to live uprightly, and distinctly. The Bible is full of prophecies that WILL come to pass. Bottom line: the Bible doesn't play, and neither should we! The time to get our houses in order by aligning our lives with God's will is N.O.W!

We can't believe it's already been four weeks since we've started this blog, and we can't thank you enough for supporting CLCC Ministries! With that being said, let's wrap up this series topic by reflecting what we've worked on thus far, and what we can do to officially add 'ALIGNMENT' as a tool of faithfulness...

First, we defined faithfulness and activated our commitment to God through action. We challenged ourselves by making Him a priority, regardless of our earthly schedules.

Next, we had the NERVE (lol) to take stock of the society we now live in, and realized just how close to the end times we are. This realization made us get our hearts right with God. Afterwards, we decided to live against the grain of anyone around us, and made the Holy Spirit our source of decision-making.

This week, we are going to fully align ourselves by obeying what God says through His Word.

We keep on hearing how important it is to OBEY God, let's take a moment to breakdown exactly what that means...

How does one 'obey' God?

By making His Word, the Bible, your final authority.

How does one make the Bible their 'final authority'?

Choosing what God's Word tells us as true, no matter what! No matter what your mama says, what your daddy told you, what your grand-mammy thinks, what your boss suggested, what cultural tradition requires or which region of the world you live in -- none of it matters! Today's world is full of gray-shaded theories, where what's right and wrong is colored by one's perspective. This is no way to live!

Pastor Paul B. Mitchell is teaching us in his current series, "Trust Me?", that faith is the pediatrics of being a Christian. You begin this walk of faith believing. The key to maturing in our faith is TRUSTING in God's Word. It's one thing to believe in the Scriptures, but it's another thing to trust in the Word. One of my favorite power statements from Pastor Paul from this series is, "Faith says, 'I believe the Lord can do this'. Trust says, 'Even if He doesn't do this, let His will be done'. "

Kick doubt, uncertainty, and fear to the curb by allowing God's Word to be the deciding factor whether something is right or wrong. Allow God's Word and Will to be your final authority by trusting it to be the final authority. Allow God's Word to have the final say on how you should live your life. Trust in the fact that your helper, the Holy Spirit, has already ordered your next steps. Make time to study how God wants us to live based on the instructions and guidelines He's ever-so-kindly included in His Word.

Romans 12:1-2 reads, "So brothers, since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to Him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to Him. This is the spiritual way for you to worship. Do not be shaped by this world. Instead, be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you. And you will be able to know what is good and pleasing to God, and what is perfect." (ICB bible version).

Let's rely on God's Word as our final authority, and align our lives according to what His Word deems as right.

Thank you for joining us during this series.
